Sunway University’s community service students, led by lecturers Mr. Amirul Idlan and Ms. Helen Guek, are partnering once again with the Riding for the Disabled Association Malaysia (RDA Malaysia) in a meaningful initiative that blends learning with compassion. RDA Malaysia, a nonprofit that uses therapeutic horse-riding to support individuals with disabilities, offers students a unique chance to gain hands-on equestrian experience while engaging with children from diverse backgrounds. Over a seven-week programme, students will care for horses, assist in stables, and support therapy sessions, fostering empathy, responsibility, and personal growth. Building on the success of their first collaboration, this second project continues to reflect Sunway University’s commitment to holistic education and community impact. Students will also be recognised as professional volunteers by RDA Malaysia, a testament to their dedication. This partnership highlights the power of collaboration between education and nonprofit sectors, offering students not just skills, but a deeper sense of purpose and connection.
